Chickens

In an odd and very large box at the bottom of the garden we have some very large birds, well finally I was introduced.

It turns out they are chickens and its where my omelettes have been coming from.  So it turns out they are useful indeed and so I must not chase them or eat them, or it will be no more eggs for me.

Its Christmas

Well its Christmas and I hope all my fellow hounds at the Lincolnshire Greyhound Trust and the Retired Greyhound Trust got as good presents as I did.

I got a special meal with it being Christmas, a little kibble, some things called brussel sprouts and a whole ducks neck.

Present wise I got a new leather collar and lead for best days out, some treats and on Boxing day my foster cousin, Tilly the Chocolate Labrador came with her foster parents and brought me a box of treats and a new toy.

We also went for a long walk together with Ethan and Sofia, Caroline & Richard’s nephew and niece.  Once we reached the wild open fields of Lincolnshire, Tilly was let of the lead but Richard always keeps me on the lead as he thinks i’ll catch and eat the rabbits.  I would not eat all of them, it is Christmas 😉

Hope you all have a fun Christmas as I did.

Christmas Eve – a Beach Walk

Today its Christmas Eve, and from the smell of the packages with my name on I think I may have some nice treats coming.

We went out in the car today and visited the seaside.  It was cold and bracing but I had one of my winter coats on so was quite cosy underneath.

It seems we were not the only ones with the idea of a beach walk, as there was lots of dogs around, but I did not spot any hounds.

After the walk which was fun, I was glad to get back home.  Richard lit a nice fire so with my bed close by I enjoyed a quiet snooze before teatime.

a Very Steep Hill and a visit to a Friend

Weekends usually mean a long walk, but Richard only took be for a short walk this Saturday morning so I knew they had something planned.

After breakfast it was a trip into Lincoln where Caroline dropped me and Richard off at the Race Course Grandstand, from there we had a steady walk along the Canal, lots of new smells and a fun walk before we got into town proper.

We walked over a bridge which was not nice as they had large trucks going over it and I am not keen on traffic.  Once over the bridge we popped into one of my favourite shops, Pets at Home, where a very nice lady gave me treats and also cut my nails.

From there we walked towards the cathedral, to get there we had to walk up the steepest hill I have ever seen, and even with my super-fit greyhound stamina, I was still out of breath by the time I reached the top.

Once at the top we met up with Caroline again, while I had been getting my nails done she had been getting her hair done.  I do like my staff to be smartly attired.

From there we walked back to the car home for a nice long rest.

But that was not the end of the days adventures, when it got close to teatime we headed back off in the car again to visit Aunty Angela.  We had all had a nice tea there and I got to have a nice long sleep.  Just to be comfy I did take my own bed, its always nice to sleep in comfort even when you are away from home.

Belton House Greyhound Walk

A trip in the car, where I have a loverly large bed in the boot is always fun, it generally means either a trip to see Grandad or Granmother (which also means treats)!

This time the trip was longer and we ended up at Belton House.

Well bless my paws; we arrived to find about another fifty hounds also here!

We had a grand day out, walking the grounds, meeting deer and sheep, though we were not permitted to chase them.

a Trip to the Garage and other exciting places

Timmy in the Pub

Today was very busy, after the usual dawn walk in my favourite fields, we headed out in the car to Lincoln.  This time we visited a garage, it seems my car needed two new front tires and as the garage is beside the common it seemed the ideal place for a long walk.  After that we headed into town to the pet shop where I had a nail trim, well it does take a little work to keep looking this good, then it was off to to the up hill area to collect Caroline who also was having a beauty treatment, she was not having her nails trimmed but her hair instead.

After that we all went home via the local butcher to order me a case of chicken and we also all had an ice cream, plain vanilla for me, mango and rum and rasen (double scoop) for Richard, and mint choc chip and mega chocolate (also a double scoop) for Caroline.

Then is was an afternoon of rest before heading to the local pub where I got lots of attention from the local children as is my right.

Holiday to Anglesey

I have been on Holiday!

Not just me I should add, I took Caroline and Richard with me so that I could be chauffeured around.   It was a holiday to the Isle of Anglesey, but luckily no boat required, just a bridge.

Lots of walks and a rather nice hotel.  The best bit was they allowed humans to eat in the bar with us hounds and dogs.  One night we had six dogs and hounds together with their staff all eating together, very merry.
